Minting Process
Minting at a glance
The easiest way to understand minting is: search, reserve, pay, and wait for delivery.
Current (Stable) Minting:
- The minting process usually takes about 2 minutes to complete, but can take up to 30 minutes or more under network/minting congestion.
- The minting process starts with a reservation transaction that our minting engine will detect and inspect for payment.
- You should receive the Handle a minute or two after payment is detected.
- Improper or lost payment will be refunded within 24 hours, if detected.
- Some Handles aren’t allowed to mint. Please see the FAQ for more information.
- Once you receive your Handle, other features like Personalization, SubHandles, and your Portal Page become available.
- Burning a Handle is not yet supported, but you can send unwanted handles to the $handleburner address.
DeMi Beta (Decentralized Minting):
- DeMi Handles are currently in a “beta” phase. Not all features are available.
- Personalization, SubHandles, and Portal Pages are currently not supported by DeMi Handles. They will be soon.
- Wallet support is limited. Please refer to the Supported Wallets page for more information.
- Once a DeMi Handle is minted, it is not available to mint under the current/stable minting process.
- Anyone can create an order transaction and submit it to the blockchain. However, our UX will do it for you when you mint through us.
- Burning a DeMi Handle is not yet supported, but you can send unwanted handles to the $handleburner address.

- Network Fees: This is the minUTxO value that asset UTxOs are required by Cardano to have in the UTxO plus the transaction execution fee. MinUTxO has a range depending on the minted name and type of Handle. Part goes to the CIP-68 "Owner Token" (the Handle in your wallet) and part goes to the CIP-68 "Reference Token" (the datum that affects your Handle, locked at a contract). These total anywhere from ₳5.2 - ₳5.5. Transaction execution is around ₳0.4
- Treasury Fee: This is currently 10% of the Handle price or ₳2, which ever is more. This is reserved for the DAO treasury when it launches.
- Handle Price: The price of the Handle - what the mint batcher receives as revenue.
- Discounts: If you hold certain assets you can get a discount from the Handle Price. Handle OGs, Rare/Ultra-Rare/Legendary Handles, or monthly selected NFT/token projects all received discounts!
