First, select the oot Handle you would like to enable SubHandle Minting for. At the bottom of the Handle select dropdown, there are three options: Portal, SubHandles, and Personalize. Select the SubHandles option, this will take you to the SubHandle Settings page.
The first section of SubHandle settings is the "SubHandle Minting Fee Address". This is the wallet address that the owner of the root Handle wants to receive the fee for each SubHandle minted. You can change this address at any time to update where minting fees will be sent.
While the settings are applied separately, the minting fee address is the same for both NFT and Virtual Handles.
Inside the settings section, you can enable OAuth. This allows Handle.me to mint SubHandles on behalf of the selected handle. This allows for public minting of your SubHandle. With it disabled, only you will be allowed to mint SubHandles from the admin mint area.
You have the option to disable personalization for SubHandles. With it disabled, no one with your SubHandle will be able to apply their own personalization to it. Personalization is on by default. If you are unsure whether or not you want to allow personalization, you can always return and disable it at a later date.
If you disable personalization after someone has minted a SubHandle, they will still be able to personalize it, but anyone who mints a new SubHandle will be unable to do so.
You also have the option to save the original address. This option, when enabled, will save the original address a SubHandle was sent to when minted. The original_address field is saved on the newly minted SubHandle's datum. This setting is off by default.
The pricing tiers section allows you to set custom pricing for anyone who mints your SubHandle. You can set a maximum of five pricing tiers. You have to set a minimum of one character, with a maximum of nineteen characters. The price is set in ADA, with a minimum of 5 ADA. This is to cover the base cost of minting a SubHandle. At five ADA, you receive no profit for any SubHandle minted. Profit is calculated by the difference between the minting fee and the price set in the pricing tier. So if you set a price of 10 ADA for any SubHandle that has 5 to 19 characters, you will receive 5 ADA for each SubHandle minted at that tier.
While settings are identical for both NFT and Virtual Handles, they are separate settings and must be applied individually. Disabling personalization for NFT SubHandles will not disable personalization for Virtual SubHandles.
To mint a SubHandle as the owner of the root Handle navigate to the SubHandles page and select the minting option from the navigation menu. There you will see, the admin view for minting a SubHandle, with the option to mint the SubHandle as an NFT or Virtual. Entering the SubHandle will display the minting option with the choice to mint it for yourself or mint and immediately transfer it to another address.
In order to make public minting of a SubHandle possible, first the root Handle owner must enable OAuth from the settings page. This allows handle.me to mint SubHandles on their behalf. The root Handle owner then needs to navigate to their personalization page and select the portal option from the menu, here they will have the option to add SubHandles to their portal. This adds the SubHandle minting interface, and makes it possible for anyone who visits the portal to mint a SubHandle.
Now anyone who visits the root Handle's portal page at "handle.me/roothandle", they will see the minting interface and be able to make a SubHandle directly from there.
Entering the desired SubHandle and if the SubHandle is available you will be able to mint it for the root handle. If the SubHandle is not available, the message "Minting Unavailable", where the minting button would be.
Under the root handle's SubHandle page select the manage option from the navigation menu. Here you will see a list of all the SubHandles minted for the root handle. You will see both the NFT SubHandles and virtual SubHandles, you will also be able to edit and revoke the privately minted Virtual SubHandles, you will be unable to edit the publicly minted SubHandles which are marked as such.
